Tesla Model Y reaches Vancouver Island as first batch with Gemini wheels begin deliveries

Tesla has been ramping up deliveries of the new Model Y with reports of happy new owners in Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, and Toronto.

Now the electric SUV has reached the far west coast, with the first Model Y arriving on Vancouver Island over the weekend.

A red Long Range AWD Model Y with the optional 19″ Gemini wheels was delivered to Dale Erhart on Saturday in Vancouver, before making the long trip back to the island later that day.

We have seen images of red Model Y’s in Canada, and other Model Y’s with Gemini wheels in Calgary, but this could be the first configuration of its kind delivered in Canada.

Coming from a Standard Range Plus (SR+) Model 3, Erhart commented the acceleration, even in the non-Performance Model Y, was enough to make his passengers feel sick.

If you follow us on Twitter, you saw that Drive Tesla was lucky enough to get an up-close look at the Model Y yesterday, the first to arrive on Vancouver Island. Expect to see a lot more details coming soon.
